Life is a tapestry, and modern living is a complex and ever-changing combination of shapes and textures, both natural and electronic. My work is an unending strata of emotion and structures, always yielding more possibilities as to what exactly the viewer is seeing. I am fascinated by patterns in nature, textiles, organic forms, and the amazing inner workings of electronic devices. My work has grown and matured into a symphony of color, repetition of shapes, and lush brushstrokes full of deep, rich hues. When painting I use numerous layers of oil color that are mixed as I work and layered heavily, as if to mimic the years of Earth’s changes and Man’s discoveries. After all, from here forward we will never live without the high tech complicated designs of technology. They have become part of our landscape. Landscapes I like to create in paint.
After years of training and painting “objects”, I have been completely liberated and now simply enjoy the movement of color and shape, and the intertwining of images. I find joy in knowing that each viewer sees something in my paintings that is uniquely theirs.
